Denfind Goes Global

Almost halfway through 2016 and it is already proving to be another successful year for Denfind, with a number of existing and new clients using our stone to great effect on a wide variety of projects. What has been remarkable this year is that in addition to our core Scottish heartlands where we have projects ongoing from Wick in the north to several across Dumfires & Galloway and the Scottish Borders we have already sold stone to clients in England, Wales and Dubai.

Our new client in the Lake District required our high quality Angus sandstone flagstones due to the close match with existing stone in her property, whilst the client in Wales is a long standing customer who first bought our stone several years ago, we were delighted when he ordered some more stone this year.

Finally and more internationally, we were delighted to see our stone specified for a new Scottish themed bar in Dubai. The gastro pub, ‘The Copper Dog’, which is located within Doubletree by Hilton, Jumeirah Beach, Dubai, specified Denfind Stone to help create a Scottish theme in their bar, reflecting the feel of another establishment which the owners operate in Scotland. Sourced by interior designers ‘Cheeky Tiki’s’ in London, we supplied 140mm guillotined stone, which was used in a traditional mortar build. We hope that The Copper Dog attracts a worldwide clientele who enjoy the experience of The Copper Dog whilst admiring the quality of the stone from Angus, Scotland .

  • Sourcing Stone

Gannochy Bridge in Angus is a Cat B listed bridge built circa 1724, crossing the River North Esk to the north of Edzell. We were recently approached by Kilmac who had been awarded the contract by Angus Council for essential repairs, to see if we could source and provide stone to match the project. We were able to provide a match, greatly reducing the lead in time for the contractor and as a result, the project was completed ahead of schedule.

  • Caird Park Bridge

Within the past couple of months, Tayside Contracts and Land & Building Services completed the construction of a new road bridge in Caird Park in Dundee, to improve access ahead of work commencing on the new Regional Performance Centre for Sport. Denfind Stone worked closely with Land & Building to ensure the correct stone products were used in the construction. A concrete structure was assembled and Denfind Stone was clad onto the structure to give it a more natural finish. You can click on the link below to see time-lapse footage of the full construction and the finished result, which we are sure you will agree looks great. Time Lapse video
